[Artist comment: Noboru Tsubaki]
Peace and dialogue appear fleetingly, like illusions, and have contributed to the creation of a great deal of literature, music, and art. I think they give Hinata hope to overcome the huge rocky mountain of reality. This is the secret to not letting my creativity run dry. It's heartwarming to see friends gathering at dusk to talk quietly about the many stories related to the port, beer in hand, and storytellers about the departures of Sinbad and Gauguin.
Exhibitions of works and talk events centered around the works will be held. The exhibition space features a 4m tall giant flag drawn by young artist Saki Matsumura and an original ""dialogue table"".
About the selection of “Round Horizon”
There are 223 books placed under the ""round horizon"". All of these books, which have book covers with the same graphic as the works, are ``books by authors from port towns'' (including works set in or written in port towns).
You can interact with words gathered from ports around the world.
Also, the first 17 people who visit on the day will be able to take home one book each.
The rules for take-home are:
① After you take it home, please have a conversation with someone about this book.
②If possible, please bring the books you have at home and exchange them (even at a later date).
